We recall that at the European Junior Championships in Bellegarde Petar Mizin won three titles – in the 200, 400 and 800 m freestyle, winning the European title in the 400 m freestyle with a new world record for juniors!coach!
Nikolay Vakarev's graduate achieved success in the final of the discipline, achieving a time of 3:44:31 minutes and breaking the world junior record of 3:44:60 minutes from 2014 the Australian Mack Horton.
The Bulgarian dropped nearly 4 seconds from his previous achievement in the discipline (3:48:02 min) and covered a second Olympic Norm "A" after the success of the 800m freestyle yesterday.
In sports, the best always win, and Petar Mitsin and Nikolay Vakarev are like that. We wish them health and thousands more success!
Petar Mitsin became European champion with a new record of Bulgaria. The swimmer, who is sponsored by Spartak Spa Hotel, became European champion in the 200 m freestyle for juniors in Belgrade . The young star of Bulgarian swimming made an improvement on his own national record for men by achieving a time of 1:46:50.
Today Petar Mitsin qualified for the second European junior final. We wish him and his coach Nikolay Vakarev many more successes and are proud of them!

From 16 to 19 May 2023 at Spa Hotel Spartak * * * * in Sandanski the fourth interdisciplinary PhD forum with international participation was held in Sandanski. The event is organized by the training center at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Career Center at the center-BAS.The forum was officially opened by ACAD. Julian Revalski, chairman of BAS and art.- Cor. DBN Evdokia Pasheva, deputy. chairman of BAS and director of training center-BAS.
For the first time the traditional event of the training center – BAS brought together young scientists and lecturers from both the country and abroad for exchange of scientific ideas. In an atmosphere of scientific creativity, more than 90 PhD students from Bulgaria, France, Germany, Poland and Spain shared the scientific problems they are working on, created new useful contacts and enjoyed the sunny and beautiful town of Sandanski.
The presentations from the fields of Biomedicine, social sciences, technology transfer in business and communication of scientific knowledge were also inspiring, presented by guest speakers from Bulgaria, USA, Lebanon, Belgium and the Netherlands.

With a glass of wine under the stars in the square of Sandanski on 23.03.23. It was the end of the first season of the movie"Guilt." The event gathered many residents and guests of the city, who for months anxiously awaited each episode, which bore the name of a popular wine variety. The film tells the story of an ancestral wine cellar, around which are intertwined secrets from the past, love, infidelity, power and money. The title plays the words with different accents -the drink of the gods and the feeling of remorse. The director is Viktor Bozhinov, known from productions such as" Under cover"," the Naked Truth About a group of Zhiguli "and"Sublime".

Petar Mitsin - the swimmer sponsored by Spartak Spa Hotel has a new national record for men's 400 m freestyle. The record time is 3.49.72 and was achieved at the international swimming tournament in Edirne. The young swimmer's goal is a medal at the European Championships . Under the guidance of his coach Nikolay Vakarev , Petar emphasized the 200 m freestyle and 200 m dolphin to meet the norms for the Olympics and the European Championships. We are proud of him and wish him health and perseverance.

The end of this week was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the hanging of Vasil Levski. These days a guest of our hotel was the Olympic, world and European champion in classical wrestling – Georgi Merkov, a competitor and coach with many successes.
Mr. Merkov's name is associated with an unforgettable story from the European Wrestling Championship in 1984. which takes place in Sweden . Then in the Hall, on the mat, a young man with flowers, behind which he holds a carbine. He turns out to be a terrorist who wants to attack a sports event to draw attention to his cause. Georgi Merkov, seeing him, manages to take away the carbine, but the terrorist points a gun at him. The two stand opposite each other and, with the help of other competitors, manage to disable the attacker.
Georgi Merkov is the only athlete so far to donate all three of his gold medals to the Museum of sport.

We are happy to share with you that Spartak Spa Hotel hosted the film crew and part of the cast, headed by the director of the film "Vina" – Viktor Bozhinov.
